Creative & Cultural Skills was formed in May 2004, after the successful submission of an Expression of Interest proposal in December 2003.
In May 2004 Creative & Cultural Skills appointed Tony Hall, Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House as Chairman.
He was joined by an interim Board of Directors made up of Richard Pulford, Chief Executive of Theatrical Management Association/Society of London Theatre, Mark Taylor, Chief Executive of the Museums Association, Hilary Jennings, Head of Operations & Development of UK Skills (Crafts), Alison Tickell, Director of CM (Music) and Bill Hart, Director of Synchronicity Consultants Ltd (Design).
In October 2004, Tom Bewick joined as Chief Executive.
